In a joint initiative of Maersk Line and GatewayRail, a Document and Payment Desk of Maersk Line has become operational at the Gateway Rail Freight Ltd ICD at Faridabad. This unique facility is aimed at enhancing customer experience for the ICD customers who can now submit the original "Bill of Lading" and make payments to Maersk Line at this counter at ICD Faridabad and get electronic DO issued for Maersk Line and Safmarine import containers.
The facility was inaugurated by Mr Steve Felder - Managing Director South Asia, of Maersk Line on May 22, 2019 at the Faridabad Intermodal Terminal. Mr Samvid Gupta Joint Managing Director of Gateway Rail Freight Ltd and Mr Ashish Jhunjhunwala, Business Head Faridabad Intermodal Terminal, were present on the occasion.
The occasion was also graced by Ms Trang Ho, Regional Head Customer Programme Management and Delivery of Maersk and Mr Jai Bhaskar, Regional Head (North India) of Maersk. Capt. Shantanu Bhattacharya, VP EXIM of GatewayRail, and Mr Rajguru Singh Behgal, Business Head Gurugram Intermodal Terminal of GatewayRail.
This facility is located at the EXIM Service Centre of ICD Faridabad on the second floor of the Main Administrative Building at the terminal. It is available to the import customers of Maersk Line for containers with ICD Faridabad (Code: INBFR6) as the final port of delivery (FPOD). The ICD customers will now no longer be required to go to designated Maersk offices for submission of Bill of Lading and for making payment to getting the Delivery Order (DO). Similar desks will soon become operational at the other three GatewayRail Terminals—ICD Gurugram (Garhi Harsaru), ICD Ludhiana (Sanehwal) and ICD Ahmedabad (Viramgam)—so as to make it easier for the customers to use the ICD services, said in a release.
