The Kerala government has announced a routine IAS reshuffle affecting several departments and senior officers across the state administration.

As part of the changes, Divya S. Iyer has been transferred from her role as Managing Director of Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited and appointed as Principal Director of the Local Government Department. She has also been given the additional responsibility of Director of the AYUSH Mission.

In her place, Geromic George has been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director of Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited and Chief Executive Officer of the Kerala Maritime Board. He will continue to hold his responsibilities in the Finance Department as Additional Secretary (Expenditure).

The reshuffle is part of the government’s broader administrative reorganization aimed at strengthening governance across departments. Both Divya S. Iyer and Geromic George are regarded as capable and experienced officers, and the changes are being viewed as routine administrative assignments rather than a reflection on performance.

Divya S. Iyer played an important role in overseeing key phases of Vizhinjam Port’s development and operations, while Geromic George is expected to bring his administrative and financial expertise to the port and maritime sectors in his new assignment.

    Key Changes at a Glance

    • Divya S. Iyer: Transferred to Local Government Department as Principal Director; also given charge of AYUSH Mission Director.

    • Geromic George: Appointed Additional Secretary, Finance (Expenditure) Department; given additional charge as MD of Vizhinjam Port and CEO of Kerala Maritime Board.

The government’s reshuffle includes several other senior IAS officers across departments such as transport, higher education, finance, agriculture, and local self-government.
