Blue Water Shippingโs Energy, Ports & Projects division has successfully executed one of the largest and most complex air charter logistics operations in its history, moving more than 3,000 tonnes of specialised chemical cargo in IBC tanks from multiple locations across China to the Middle East under extremely tight timelines.
With escalating tensions around the Strait of Hormuz making ocean freight unviable, and tightening airline restrictions on sensitive cargo significantly reducing available airfreight capacity, the operation demanded rapid coordination and innovative logistics planning.
Teams from Blue Water Shippingโs Transport & Logistics and Energy, Ports & Projects divisions worked around the clock across Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Urumqi to secure every possible uplift opportunity.
Despite mounting operational challenges, the company successfully completed the movement using 28 air charter flights within a single month โ ensuring uninterrupted supply chain continuity for the customer.
The project highlights how speed, flexibility and early capacity securing have become critical factors in global logistics amid volatile market conditions.
