Hapag-Lloyd and HERE Technologies have formed a collaborative agreement to improve visibility in global supply chains.
HERE Tracking improves Hapag-Lloyd’s existing real-time smart container monitoring technology Live Position by providing predicted ETAs for inland transit, increasing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
With the deployment of over 1.5 million container tracking devices to 90 per cent of Hapag Lloyd’s entire fleet, the carrier will be able to estimate the arrival of these containers throughout its rail, barge, and truck transportation networks, thanks to the HERE Tracking solution.
The tracking devices will be deployed across Hapag-Lloyd’s whole fleet and will give ETA predictions early next year.
By leveraging AI-powered, predictive ETAs from HERE, businesses and operations managers can rely on continuously updated data throughout the entire transport journey.
HERE Tracking reportedly enables consumers to track transportation in real time, both indoors and outdoors, and across numerous modes. Along with predicted ETAs, the service includes adjustable geofencing for smart, event-based alerts and notifications, as well as extensive post-trip analytics.
The service is offered through an application programming interface (API), which allows for easy connection with current corporate applications and gives clients complete control over their data.
