    Despite suspension of trade with India, Pakistan has witnessed 46 percent increase in annual imports of goods from the neighbouring country, as per media reports on Wednesday, quoting its sources.

    During the month of October 2024, volume of imports from India stood at nearly $36 million as compared to $24.5 million goods which were imported from India during October 2023.

    In September 2024, 45 percent increase was witnessed in imports of goods from India while in August 2024 only 5 percent increase in imports were registered.

    In May 2023 and January-March 2024 increase in imports of goods from India was also reported.

    Pakistan banned trade with India in August 2019 and after sometime Pakistan allowed limited imports of goods from India.

    Pakistan also approved import of life-saving drugs from India.
