Singapore-headquartered box carrier Ocean Network Express (ONE) and South Korea’s flagship container line HMM will launch a new service connecting key ports in the Far East with major hubs on the East Coast of South America.

ONE refers to the service as the East Coast South America Express 2 (SX2), while HMM has branded it as the Far East Asia-East Latin America (FL2) service. The new service is expected to commence operations in April.

In addition, ONE and HMM will offer a dedicated River Plate feeder service, connecting via Rio Grande, with “reliable and competitive transit times” to Argentina and Uruguay.

The introduction of SX2 with River Plate feeder service offers a solution for transporting cargo between the Far East and South America and meets the growing demand for trade between these regions.
