Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), an air cargo terminal at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and a subsidiary of aviation solutions provider SATS, has expanded its long-standing partnership with Hongkong Post.
Hongkong Post will have a decantation site at AAT for handling export mail.
The deal will support Hongkong Post through a transitional period ahead of the completion of its new Air Mail Centre at HKIA expected in 2027.
Mike Chew, AAT’s chief executive, said: “Our team is committed to delivering excellence in mail handling services, leveraging our experience and expertise to ensure a smooth transition and continued reliability.
“We look forward to contributing to the development of Hong Kong’s logistics infrastructure and supporting the postal service.”
AAT has, it said, been working closely with Hongkong Post to ensure the smooth handling of export mail.
The integration process has been “seamless”, it said, thanks to “the strong dedication and close collaboration of both teams”.
Air Premia
Earlier this month (February), AAT confirmed that it had struck a deal with Air Premia to serve as the cargo terminal operator for the airline’s inaugural route from Seoul Incheon to Hong Kong.
Air Premia introduced four weekly flights using Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with service commencing on 24 January.
AAT said the new route would boost belly capacity between the two regions.
And, in other news, DHL Aviation recently selected AAT and SATS HK to provide cargo and ramp operations at HKIA.
The partnership between AAT, ground handler SATS HK and DHL Air Capacity Sales (DHL ACS), which manages airport-to-airport cargo capacity across its global network, commenced in January with AAT handling cargo operations for key DHL network carriers.
