Portchain has marked a significant milestone in its collaboration with Ocean Network Express (ONE) to digitalise the berth alignment process with terminals.
Over the past year, this partnership has delivered key improvements in operational efficiency and sustainability while promoting the adoption of Just-In-Time (JIT) port calls.
The collaboration has reportedly enabled ONE to coordinate over 1,700 port calls worldwide, driving measurable reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
One of the standout achievements has been the partnership with Port Houston, where improved coordination allowed ONE to adjust vessel speeds to ensure JIT arrivals, ultimately lowering bunker consumption and reducing CO2 emissions.
According to both partners, the integration of Portchain Connect globally has played a pivotal role in helping ONE meet its objectives of efficient bunker fuel management and reducing CO2 emissions.
“The valuable insights and communication enabled by Portchain Connect have significantly improved our operations and sustainability goals,” said a Regional Vessel Operations Manager within ONE.
Looking to the future, ONE plans to expand the use of Portchain Connect across its global network in 2025, continuing to embed digitalisation and sustainability into its operations.
