The Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) has launched a new Identity Exchange Platform aimed at strengthening cybersecurity and standardization across the global container shipping sector. The platform is designed to enable secure, verified digital identities for maritime stakeholders, reducing risks associated with fraud, data breaches and unauthorized access.
According to DCSA, the system will support interoperable identity management for carriers, ports, terminals, and logistics service providers, facilitating safer data exchange as the industry accelerates digital adoption. The initiative aligns with DCSA’s ongoing efforts to create uniform technology standards and enhance collaboration across the supply chain.
The association said the platform is expected to streamline authentication processes, improve trust between partners, and support future digital solutions that rely on secure identity verification. Industry adoption will roll out in phases, with carriers anticipated to be among the first users.
