    V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA), Tuticorin, conducted an informative awareness session today on the recently implemented Labour Codes, aimed at enhancing understanding of key provisions and compliance requirements among stakeholders.

    The session was led by senior officials from the Labour Department, including Dr. Srinu Dara, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (C); Shri Pravin Pandi Mohandas, RLC (C), Madurai; Shri Sunil Keerthi, LEO (C), Tuticorin; and Shri S.V. Arun, LEO, Madurai.

    The programme saw active participation from Heads of Departments, port employees, representatives of various unions, contractors, and terminal operators associated with the port.

    VOCPA Chairperson Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE; Deputy Chairperson Shri Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS; and Secretary Shri S.P. Mohan Kumar thanked the officials for their detailed presentations, noting that the insights shared would help strengthen compliance, promote worker welfare, and ensure smoother implementation of the Labour Codes within the port ecosystem.

    The port authority reiterated its commitment to fostering a transparent, compliant, and employee-friendly working environment.
