The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) on Thursday launched the official website of Seafood Expo Bharat (SEB) 2026, formally opening online registrations for exhibitors and delegates. The website was inaugurated by Shri D.V. Swamy, IAS, Chairman, MPEDA, at the MPEDA Headquarters in Kochi, in a hybrid event attended virtually by hundreds of seafood exporters, farmers, SEAI officials and MPEDA officers from across the country.

Welcoming the participants, Mr. Anil Kumar P., Joint Director (Marketing), MPEDA, highlighted the enhanced features and improved provisions planned for SEB 2026. Felicitations were offered by Dr. M.K. Ram Mohan, Director, MPEDA; Mr. Pavan Kumar, President, Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI); and Mr. Alex K. Ninan, Vice President, SEAI. Speakers underlined the importance of leveraging SEB as an international platform to showcase India’s progress in seafood processing, cold chain infrastructure and aquaculture diversification, while encouraging exporters to utilise the structured Reverse Buyer–Seller Meetings (RBSM) to strengthen global market linkages.

Building on the success of the 2025 edition, SEB 2026 will be three times larger, featuring 180 exhibitors, over 325 stalls and participation from more than 5,000 delegates. The expo will highlight India’s advancements in quality assurance, traceability, technology adoption, sustainability and value-chain development.

Addressing the gathering, Shri D.V. Swamy, IAS, said SEB plays a crucial role in reinforcing international confidence in India’s safe and sustainable seafood practices by bringing together government agencies, private stakeholders and global partners on a single platform. On the occasion, Dr. Gibin Kumar T.R., Secretary, MPEDA, released the SEB 2026 brochure, which was received by Mr. Alex K. Ninan on behalf of SEAI. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. S. Asok Kumar, Deputy Director, MPEDA.

Key features of SEB 2026 include an exhibition with 325 stalls, technical sessions, skill and culinary Olympiads, business and trade presentations, buyer–seller meets, seafood tasting sessions, state and country pavilions, and industry field visits. The event will also host three categories of B2B meetings—between importers and exporters, retailers and exporters/farmers, and exporters and farmers.

More than 100 international buyers from the top 25 seafood importing countries, along with around 50 leading domestic retail chains and thousands of farms and exporters, are expected to participate in dedicated buyer–seller interactions. The exhibition will span three halls, featuring dedicated zones for ornamental fish, aquaculture technologies, seafood processing equipment and ingredients, exporters, international and state pavilions, government agencies, financial institutions and fisheries research bodies.

MPEDA has encouraged early registration through www.seafoodexpobharat.com, with an early bird discount of up to 10% available until February 28, 2026. An additional 5% loyalty discount is offered to exhibitors of AAI 2019, IISS 2023 and SEB 2025, along with special concessions for enrolled aqua farmers, startups and MSME exhibitors. Sponsorship and advertising opportunities are also open.

SEB 2026 aims to enhance global confidence in India’s seafood quality and safety, expand market access across key regions including the US, EU, China, Japan, the Middle East and ASEAN, and further strengthen Brand India Seafood as a global benchmark.
