FedEx has commenced construction of a new automated air cargo hub at Navi Mumbai International Airport, marking a significant step in strengthening its India operations.

The upcoming facility is designed to feature advanced automation systems aimed at enhancing sorting efficiency, improving turnaround times, and supporting the growing demand for express cargo services. Once operational, the hub is expected to play a key role in boosting air freight capacity in western India.

Company officials stated that the investment reflects FedEx’s long-term commitment to India’s expanding trade and e-commerce sectors. The new hub will enable seamless domestic and international connectivity, particularly benefiting exporters, SMEs, and time-sensitive shipments.

The development also aligns with broader efforts to position Navi Mumbai as a major aviation and logistics gateway, supporting regional economic growth and job creation.
