CMA CGM has issued an advisory highlighting stricter customs procedures at German ports, urging customers and logistics partners to ensure greater compliance with updated requirements to avoid delays in cargo clearance.

The shipping line said enhanced customs controls could impact documentation processes, shipment handling, and transit timelines, making accurate and timely submission of cargo information increasingly important.

The changes come as European ports and authorities continue to strengthen border controls, improve regulatory compliance, and enhance supply chain security. Carriers and shippers are adapting operations to meet evolving customs standards while maintaining smooth cargo flows.

CMA CGM advised customers to review documentation requirements carefully and work closely with logistics partners to minimise potential disruptions.

The carrier continues to monitor developments at German ports and is supporting customers through operational updates as customs processes become more stringent.
