India’s spice exports maintained strong growth momentum in April 2026, with Small Cardamom, Mint Products, and Spice Oils & Oleoresins emerging as the leading contributors to the year-on-year increase in exports compared with April 2025.

The robust performance reflects sustained global demand for Indian spice products and underscores the country’s strengthening position in international spice markets. Higher shipments of value-added products such as spice oils and oleoresins, alongside strong demand for premium spices like small cardamom and mint-based products, helped drive overall export growth during the month.

The latest export trend also highlights the growing diversification of India’s spice basket, with both traditional whole spices and processed, high-value spice ingredients witnessing healthy overseas demand. Industry observers believe the continued expansion in exports is being supported by India’s quality standards, processing capabilities, and increasing consumption of Indian spices across food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical industries.

With demand remaining resilient across key global markets, the strong start to FY2026-27 is expected to provide further impetus to India’s spice export sector in the coming months.
