The Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 91 acres of land for the development of a logistics park in Visakhapatnam (Vizag), a project intended to support the proposed Google Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub and strengthen the city’s position as an emerging technology and logistics destination.
The logistics park will provide critical infrastructure for the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of equipment, data centre hardware, and other high-value cargo associated with AI, cloud computing, and advanced digital technologies. The project is expected to complement the planned AI Hub by creating an integrated ecosystem that combines technology, logistics, and industrial development.
Strategically located in Visakhapatnam, the logistics park is expected to leverage the city’s multimodal connectivity, including its major seaport, international airport, national highways, and rail network. This integrated transport infrastructure will facilitate faster movement of goods and improve supply chain efficiency for technology companies, manufacturers, and service providers.
The initiative aligns with the Andhra Pradesh government’s broader vision of transforming Visakhapatnam into a leading technology, innovation, and investment hub. By developing world-class logistics infrastructure alongside digital and AI-focused projects, the state aims to attract domestic and international investments, generate employment, and accelerate economic growth.
The logistics park is also expected to benefit a range of industries beyond the technology sector, including electronics manufacturing, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and advanced manufacturing. Modern warehousing facilities, value-added logistics services, and multimodal transport links will enhance the region’s competitiveness and support export-oriented businesses.
Industry experts believe the project will reinforce Visakhapatnam’s growing importance as a strategic logistics gateway on India’s east coast. Combined with ongoing investments in port infrastructure, industrial corridors, and digital innovation, the new logistics park is expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s role in global supply chains while supporting the state’s ambition to become a major centre for AI-driven industries and high-tech manufacturing.
