The Port of Long Beach recorded double-digit growth in cargo volumes during June, reflecting sustained import demand and continued resilience across trans-Pacific trade routes. The strong monthly performance underscores the port’s ability to efficiently handle rising container traffic despite evolving global supply chain conditions.

Growth was driven by higher import volumes, steady export activity and an increase in empty container movements, supported by improved vessel schedules and efficient terminal operations. The port continued to benefit from robust consumer demand and the ongoing diversion of cargo through major U.S. West Coast gateways.

Port officials noted that investments in infrastructure, terminal modernisation and digital technologies have enhanced cargo handling efficiency, enabling the port to accommodate larger vessel calls while reducing turnaround times. These improvements have strengthened Long Beach’s competitiveness as one of North America’s leading container ports.

The positive June results reinforce the Port of Long Beach’s role as a critical gateway for U.S. international trade. With global shipping networks continuing to adapt to changing market dynamics, the port remains focused on expanding capacity, improving sustainability and delivering reliable supply chain solutions for importers, exporters and logistics providers.
