Shreeji Shipping Global Ltd has announced another significant milestone in its coastal shipping operations, entering into a long-term charter understanding with AMNS Shipping and Logistics Private Limited on September 7, 2026, for the deployment of its vessel MV Sanghi Sudarshan for coastal cargo movement along the Indian coastline.
The approximately 4,400 DWT all-weather vessel has a low draft of around 4.5 metres, allowing it to access ports and locations with draft limitations. Originally designed to transport clinker, MV Sanghi Sudarshan has been modified, strengthened and class-certified to meet customer-specific requirements for the transportation of steel coils.
The vessel operates on VLSFO (Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil), providing a potential cost advantage, while its Indian Coastal Vessel (ICV) status offers greater flexibility on eligible coastal routes. These capabilities are expected to support efficient voyage planning and help optimise transportation costs.
The latest charter agreement follows the deployment of MV SJ LILY and further strengthens Shreeji Shipping Global’s coastal shipping capabilities. The company said the agreement reflects its focus on providing customised, efficient and dependable maritime logistics solutions to customers moving cargo along the Indian coastline.
The deployment also highlights the growing role of coastal shipping in supporting efficient domestic cargo movement and providing an alternative to conventional land-based transportation for suitable cargo flows.
