Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), under the aegis of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Drydocks World, a DP World company, have signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) for ship repair operations at CSL’s International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) in Kochi.
The strategic partnership aims to strengthen Kochi’s position as a major ship repair hub and marks a significant milestone in the development of India’s ship repair ecosystem.
By combining CSL’s established shipbuilding and repair capabilities with Drydocks World’s global expertise, the joint venture is expected to enhance India’s ship repair capacity and improve its ability to attract international vessels for repair and associated marine services.
The partnership will also contribute to the growth of India’s maritime services sector, supporting greater self-reliance and strengthening the country’s position in the global maritime industry.
The initiative aligns with the vision of Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 (MAKV 2047) and reflects the partners’ shared commitment to building stronger maritime capabilities and establishing India as a preferred destination for international ship repair and marine services.
