Amazon has increased its logistics capacity in India by 50% ahead of the festive season, strengthening its fulfilment and delivery network to handle higher order volumes expected during the peak shopping period.
The expansion is aimed at improving delivery speed, increasing processing capacity and ensuring smoother movement of customer orders across key markets during the festive rush.
Network Expanded Ahead of Peak Season
Amazon has been strengthening its logistics infrastructure by expanding fulfilment and sortation capabilities, delivery stations and transportation capacity across India.
The additional capacity is expected to help the company manage higher shipment volumes while improving connectivity between fulfilment centres, sorting facilities and last-mile delivery locations.
Preparing for Higher E-commerce Volumes
India’s festive season is one of the busiest periods for e-commerce, with demand typically rising across electronics, fashion, home products and other consumer categories.
By scaling its logistics network ahead of the peak period, Amazon aims to improve operational resilience and maintain delivery performance as order volumes increase.
The capacity expansion also reflects the broader growth of India’s e-commerce logistics sector, with online retailers and logistics providers investing in infrastructure and technology to meet rising consumer demand.
