India’s software services exports increased 8.2% to $221.4 billion in FY2025-26, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), highlighting continued growth in the country’s technology services sector.
The rise was supported by sustained overseas demand for Indian software and technology-enabled services, with Indian IT companies continuing to serve clients across major global markets.
The software services sector remains a major contributor to India’s external earnings, generating significant foreign exchange through services delivered to customers outside the country. The latest growth also reflects the expanding role of technology and digital services in global business operations.
Indian technology companies have increasingly diversified their service offerings beyond traditional software development to include cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics and other digital solutions.
The continued increase in software exports strengthens India’s position as a major global hub for technology and business services. It also provides support to the country’s broader services-export performance amid evolving conditions in global merchandise trade.
