DP World has secured International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification for its operations across the United States and Mexico, strengthening its air freight capabilities and compliance credentials in the North American market.

The certification is expected to support DP World’s efforts to provide more consistent and standardised air cargo handling services across its network. IATA certification is widely recognised within the aviation industry and helps demonstrate compliance with established operational and safety standards.

The move comes as demand for reliable air freight services continues to grow, particularly for time-sensitive and high-value cargo. Manufacturers, retailers and other businesses are increasingly seeking integrated logistics solutions that can connect air cargo with wider ocean, road and warehousing networks.

DP World has been expanding its logistics offering beyond traditional port operations, building an integrated supply-chain network covering freight forwarding, contract logistics, warehousing and transportation. Its strengthened air cargo credentials in the US and Mexico can support customers moving goods across North American and international markets.

For exporters and importers, standardised air cargo processes can improve shipment reliability and simplify coordination across different logistics providers. Certification can also help strengthen confidence among customers handling specialised or time-critical shipments.

The United States and Mexico are important manufacturing and trade markets, with significant flows of automotive, electronics, industrial and consumer goods. Efficient air freight connections can complement ocean and road transport, particularly when companies need faster delivery options.

DP World’s latest certification forms part of its broader strategy to develop end-to-end logistics capabilities and strengthen its presence in major global trade corridors.

As supply chains become increasingly integrated and companies seek greater visibility and flexibility, the expansion of certified air freight operations could help DP World offer a wider range of logistics solutions across North America.
