Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) handled 37 MMT of total cargo in October 2023, a growth of 48% year on year.

APSEZ is the biggest integrated transport utility in India and a part of the diversified Adani Group.

The total cargo volume of Adani’s ports in India cross the 35-MMT mark to touch 36 MMT, which is a first for the company.

As per a company statement, the Haifa Port in Israel handled over 1.1 MMT of cargo in October, marginally better than the average cargo volume run rate of the last six months.

Overall, in the initial seven months of FY24 (April-October 2023), APSEZ handled 240 MMT of total cargo, an 18% Y-o-Y growth. Across its ports in India, the recorded year-on-year volume growth for the company was 15%, the statement said.

During April-October, the three broad cargo types – dry bulk, liquids, and containers – recorded a double-digit growth year on year, the company said.
