    The All-Major Ports Volleyball & Beach Volleyball Tournament, held at New Mangalore Port and presided over by Dr. A. V. Ramana, Chairman of New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), concluded on December 19th, 2023, with Cochin Port Authority emerging as the unequivocal champion in both categories.

    The prestigious three-day event brought together eight teams representing a dozen major ports from across India, showcasing intense competition and sportsmanship. Cochin Port Authority’s exceptional skill and unwavering dedication were on full display, securing top honors in both Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.

    V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority exhibited commendable performances, securing the coveted second place in both categories. Their consistent drive and determination throughout the competition earned them well-deserved accolades and recognition among the top contenders.

    New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) and Paradip Port clinched third place in Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, respectively, adding to the spectacle with their grit and resilience. The tournament witnessed intense matches, and the top performers were celebrated during the grand valedictory ceremony on December 19th.

    Dr. A. V. Ramana, Chairman of NMPA, presided over the closing ceremony and commended the spirit of sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament. He emphasized the significance of such events in fostering camaraderie and collaboration among the Indian port fraternity.

    The closing ceremony, a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and unity, saw K. G. Nath, Deputy Chairman of NMPA & Chairman of the Major Port Sports Control Board (MPSCB), as the Chief Guest. Nath extended heartfelt congratulations to the winners, acknowledging the outstanding performances that graced the tournament.

    Capt. S. R. Pattanayak, President of NMPSC, praised all participating teams for their exemplary sportsmanship and expressed gratitude to NMP Sports Council members for their tireless efforts in ensuring the tournament’s success.

    The All-Major Ports Volleyball & Beach Volleyball Tournament served not only as a platform for athletic competition but also as a catalyst for fostering unity and collaboration among major ports in India.
