MAWANI has revealed that the King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam is set to join the SIG service by Ocean Network Express (ONE) and Samudera Shipping Line Ltd (SAMU).

The SIG service will now connect King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam to several key destinations in South East Asia and India. These include Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Kochi in India, Colombo in Sri Lanka, and Jebel Ali in the UAE.

Regular weekly trips will be made using a vessel with a capacity of 2,700 TEU.

With its vast area of 19 square kilometres, the King Abdulaziz Port features 43 fully serviced and equipped berths capable of accommodating large ships.

It reportedly offers comprehensive operational services and modern equipment, allowing it to handle various types of cargo.

The port’s capacity stands at 105 million tonnes of goods and containers.

In September last year, MAWANI signed an agreement with the Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC) to boost collaboration across sustainability, marine safety, and oil spill control.

More recently, MAWANI and the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the aim of raising the level of planning for joint works.
