Kintetsu World Express (Benelux), a subsidiary of Japan-based Kintetsu World Express, plans to open a new air cargo terminal in the Netherlands this year to further increase its air cargo throughput in the country.

The new terminal will be located at Schiphol Airport’s cargo area near airline cargo facilities. With this new facility, the company aims to expand its presence in Europe, and increase the volume of cargo handled between Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Its operations will include in-house unit load device build-up and breakdown of air consolidation cargo, catering to a diverse range of goods.

Moreover, the terminal will boast a temperature control facility that is Good Distribution Practices certified, specifically designed for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals that necessitate precise temperature regulation. It will also hold Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certification to guarantee the security of customers’ cargo.

At present, the KWE Benelux Amsterdam branch manages two warehouses situated in the Westpoort industrial estate, around 10km away from Schiphol Airport. The logistics activities currently conducted at the warehouses will be partly consolidated into the new air cargo terminal.
