On 1 August 2024, Röhlig Logistics acquired a majority stake in its long-standing agent Air-Ocean Ireland, following more than 20 years of cooperation.

With the opening of a new branch in Dublin, Ireland, the logistics company is strengthening its presence in Northern Europe.

“By opening our own office in Dublin, we can support both current and future customers even more efficiently. Ireland’s favorable geographical location, excellent transport links, and EU membership make the country an important hub between Europe, North America, and the UK. We are delighted to enter this dynamic market under our own name and to continue our cooperation with Air-Ocean Ireland,” explains Ulrike Baum, member of the Global Executive Board at Röhlig Logistics.

From January 2025, the company will operate under the name Röhlig Ireland. Garrett O’Brien, founder and Managing Director of Air-Ocean Ireland, will assume the role of CEO.

“I am excited about this new chapter and look forward to working even more closely with colleagues across the Röhlig global network. Our aim at Röhlig Ireland will be to drive growth using the latest technological advances in the logistics industry, while ensuring that our people remain at the heart of our organisation,” explains Garrett O’Brien.
