    Swiss-based offshore drilling giant Transocean has secured a one-year contract with an undisclosed operator in the US Gulf of Mexico for its ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Conqueror.

    The New York-listed operator of 34 floaters said the rig has been fixed from October 2025 for about $193m, including additional services.

    The 2016-built unit is currently operating for Chevron in the US Gulf at $440,000 per day, excluding additional services.
