Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), JSW Infrastructure and Essar Ports are among the companies competing for a major logistics project at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, with the project carrying an estimated value of ₹5,881 crore.
The proposed development is aimed at strengthening logistics infrastructure at Dadri, an important freight and distribution location in the National Capital Region. The project is expected to support the movement and handling of containerised and other cargo through improved multimodal connectivity.
The participation of major port and logistics companies reflects growing private-sector interest in inland logistics infrastructure. Dadri’s strategic location near Delhi and its connectivity with road and rail networks make it an important node for freight movement between northern India and major ports.
The project is also expected to complement India’s efforts to expand multimodal logistics infrastructure and improve the efficiency of domestic supply chains. Better integration between ports, rail networks, road corridors and inland logistics terminals can help reduce cargo transit times and logistics costs.
For the participating companies, the project could provide an opportunity to expand their presence beyond traditional port operations into integrated logistics and inland freight handling.
The bidding process will determine the operator for the proposed ₹5,881 crore facility. Once developed, the Dadri logistics hub is expected to strengthen freight-handling capacity in northern India and support growing trade and industrial activity in the region.
