The Government of Andhra Pradesh has approved a major greenfield investment by Websol Renewable Private Limited to set up a fully integrated 8 GW solar manufacturing facility at MPSEZ–Naidupeta in Tirupati district. The project, with an investment of Rs 3,538 crore, will include 4 GW of solar cell capacity and 4 GW of solar module capacity, and is expected to generate direct employment for nearly 2,000 people.

Developed in two phases over 120 acres, the facility is scheduled to begin commercial production from July 2027 and July 2028. To support sustainable and cost-efficient operations, land has also been facilitated for a dedicated captive solar power plant, alongside a planned 100 MW captive solar installation.

The investment further strengthens Naidupeta’s position as a key solar manufacturing hub in South India, alongside major players such as Premier Energies, Tata Power and Voltsun, reinforcing the region’s growing clean-energy ecosystem.
