APM Terminals Pipavav has marked a major operational milestone with the arrival of the container vessel MV Seapan Ganges, the largest parcel size vessel call ever handled at the port.

The vessel, with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of around 115,000 tonnes, completed an impressive 4,512 container moves, equivalent to 8,454 TEUs, during its port call. The operation was carried out safely and efficiently, achieving a berth productivity of approximately 120 moves per hour, highlighting the terminal’s strong operational capabilities.

The vessel call was made possible with the support of global liner major Hapag-Lloyd AG, which partnered with the terminal for the operation. The successful handling of such a large parcel call underscores the growing confidence of global shipping lines in Pipavav’s infrastructure and operational efficiency.

Terminal officials noted that the milestone reflects Pipavav’s increasing importance as a key maritime gateway for Northwest India, supporting international trade through reliable and efficient port operations.

With modern facilities and a strong focus on safety and productivity, APM Terminals Pipavav continues to strengthen its position as a strategic hub for container handling and global maritime connectivity.
