A truck carrying eggs entered Benapole port from India on Sunday (September 8) evening. It was released from the port later at night.

Recently, the government allowed the import of 50 lakh eggs from India to control the egg market in the country.

“More eggs should be imported to stabilise the market. Imports were stopped for the time being,” said Abdul Latif, proprietor of Ratul International, a Benapole C&F agent.

He said that if eggs are imported, the people of Bangladesh will be able to buy them at lower prices.
