The ports officially joined the IMEC Ports Club on October 6, 2026, when their representatives signed a joint declaration in New Delhi, India. The initiative was developed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone and France’s Marseille Fos Port to strengthen cooperation among ports linked to the proposed corridor.

The Ports Club will focus on improving supply-chain connectivity, trade facilitation, digital integration, data exchange and energy decarbonisation. Participation is expected to help Beirut and Tripoli explore partnerships with other ports and logistics operators across the India–Middle East–Europe trade network.

However, joining the Ports Club does not mean Lebanon has become part of IMEC’s original core route. The move establishes a platform for cooperation, while the ports’ future role will depend on infrastructure development, regional connectivity and the implementation of practical logistics projects.
