Bijliride has rolled out an electric vehicle (EV) fleet to support last-mile deliveries for Flipkart Minutes across five major Indian metropolitan markets, strengthening the use of electric mobility in quick-commerce logistics.
The deployment is aimed at supporting fast and efficient delivery operations while helping reduce emissions associated with conventional petrol and diesel-powered delivery vehicles.
EVs are increasingly being adopted for urban last-mile logistics because of their lower operating costs and suitability for frequent, short-distance trips. The vehicles can also help delivery operators manage fuel expenses as quick-commerce companies expand their networks of local fulfilment centres.
The partnership with Flipkart Minutes gives Bijliride an opportunity to expand its EV deployment across high-density urban delivery markets. Quick-commerce operations require a large number of daily trips, making fleet electrification an important part of efforts to improve the sustainability of last-mile logistics.
The rollout also reflects growing collaboration between e-commerce companies and electric mobility providers. As online grocery and convenience deliveries expand, logistics operators are increasingly looking for cleaner and more cost-efficient transport solutions.
Bijliride’s EV fleet expansion could support further electrification of urban delivery operations as demand for quick-commerce services continues to grow. The initiative highlights the increasing role of electric vehicles in India’s evolving e-commerce and last-mile logistics ecosystem.
