Blue Dart Express on 12 January 2025 published a report titled ‘India on the Move 2025 revealing that the company successfully moved 14,000 tonnes of cargo in a single day during July 2025.
The report said that it delivered 47 million secured parcels throughout the year, with its fleet covering 2 billion kilometers by road.
According to the findings, the company recorded 20 peak days in 2025 where shipment volumes doubled compared to daily averages, signaling the intensifying pressure and demand during festival and sale seasons.
The report highlighted Blue Dart’s specialised capabilities in handling critical, temperature-sensitive shipments. The logistics company successfully managed a complex cold chain that transported some of the nation’s most vital medical cargo.
Notable feats included the transport of insulin and medicines at a controlled 2–8°C, blood and plasma at –80°C, and cell and gene therapies requiring dry-ice precision.
The company also moved heart valves at stable ambient temperatures. In its most extreme temperature-controlled operation, Blue Dart transported veterinary vaccines using liquid nitrogen at –196°C, a temperature colder than the winters of Antarctica or deep space.
A key insight from the report is the economic pivot toward non-metro cities. The data revealed a 60% surge in demand from Tier-2 cities, which are now powering the next wave of logistics growth.
These markets accounted for more than half of all new activations and shipment growth for the company. The report attributes this shift to the rise of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, and a new generation of digitally savvy entrepreneurs emerging from India’s hinterlands.
Blue Dart, part of the DHL Group’s eCommerce division, now spans 399,000 square meters of logistics infrastructure. The network’s reach was tested to its limits, with the highest delivery point recorded in Leh, Ladakh, at an altitude of 3,500 meters.
The report also highlights the human element behind these statistics, noting that 626 employees have been with the organisation for over 25 years.
