BPCL has launched a biofuel blend High Flash High-Speed Diesel (HFHSD) bunker at Mumbai Port, marking a significant step towards greener shipping fuels. As the first facility of its kind by an OMC in India, it provides a biodegradable alternative to traditional fuels, according to a BPCL statement on Friday.

This initiative supports environmental sustainability while enhancing BPCL’s leadership in the Indian bunkering market. It aligns with global goals to decarbonise the maritime sector, adding to the company’s various green initiatives, BPCL added.

”Our Project Aspire, focused on green energy, propels us towards a cleaner future. The biofuel blend bunker is a crucial step, positioning BPCL as a global bunkering leader,” said Sukhmal Jain, BPCL’s Director (Marketing).
