Vijayawada International Airport will resume cargo services on Monday, benefiting aqua exporters and food processing industries in the combined Krishna, Guntur, and West Godavari districts. These services had been suspended since July 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.Initially launched in March 2018, the cargo services at Vijayawada airport received positive feedback from trade chambers, with large quantities of fish, prawns, and other aqua products from the Kolleru region being exported to major cities.

Prior to the suspension, the services had proven crucial for the regional trade economy. Omega enterprises has recently secured the tender for it.
