Cathay Cargo reported a 9.3% year-on-year increase in freight traffic, reflecting sustained demand across its global air cargo network and continued strength in key international trade lanes. The growth highlights the airline’s ability to capitalise on resilient e-commerce shipments, high-value cargo movements, and improving market conditions despite ongoing global economic uncertainties.

The airline recorded higher cargo volumes during the reporting period, supported by strong exports from Asia and steady demand for time-sensitive shipments, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, perishables, and general cargo. Capacity expansion and network optimisation also contributed to the improved performance, enabling Cathay Cargo to better meet customer requirements across major markets.

Cathay Cargo said it continued to benefit from robust cross-border e-commerce activity and stable demand from manufacturing sectors. The carrier has also focused on enhancing operational efficiency through digital cargo solutions, improved handling capabilities, and investments in specialised logistics services to strengthen its competitive position.

Looking ahead, Cathay Cargo expects demand to remain healthy, supported by seasonal shipping activity and recovering global trade. The airline will continue to monitor market conditions while optimising capacity deployment and expanding service offerings to support customers with reliable and efficient air freight solutions across its international network.
