The Union Government has approved two major road infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening regional connectivity, improving logistics efficiency, and supporting economic growth under the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The first project is the development of a six-lane greenfield Nashik–Solapur corridor in Maharashtra, with an approved investment of ₹19,142 crore. Spanning 374 km, the corridor has been described as the “Golden Quadrilateral of Viksit Bharat” and is expected to significantly enhance east–west connectivity across the state. The project is targeted for completion within two years and is expected to reduce travel time, improve road safety, and provide a major boost to trade, industry, and regional development.
The second project involves the widening and strengthening of National Highway 326, covering a 206-km stretch, with an approved outlay of ₹1,526 crore. Scheduled for completion within two years, the project will improve road conditions, enhance freight movement, and ensure better connectivity for remote and tribal regions along the corridor.
Together, these projects reflect the Centre’s continued focus on expanding high-quality road infrastructure, promoting balanced regional development, and supporting faster economic growth through improved transportation networks.
