Chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday that the Union govt will provide Rs 30,000 crore to the state in the next five years to take up infrastructure work, including the widening of national highways. Sawant said that once the rains subside, it will take one month to fill the potholes of Goa. He also mentioned that within a year, the water shortage issue in the state would be resolved.
“For Viksit Goa, the Union govt has provided Rs 30,000 crore to create infrastructure in the state, and in the next five years, around Rs 30,000 crore will be allocated to the state to create infrastructure, including national highways, and projects would be taken up as listed by MLAs,” Sawant said.
The CM said that the three-member committee will submit a detailed report on the renovation of Kala Academy, and the report will be tabled in the next assembly session. “We will make sure that the contractor takes up maintenance work at Kala Academy,” he said.
Sawant said that state govt will construct a new Junta House in Panaji once the tenants of the building vacate the premises. He mentioned that the process of vacating the tenants has started, as they have been there for many years.
He said that state govt will complete the work of sewerage treatment plants in a time-bound manner.
The chief minister added that 40% of the state population receives zero water bills and mentioned that the registration of water tankers has started in Goa.
