As part of MSME Week-2026, the CGST Kutch Commissionerate, in association with the Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) and Laghu Udyog Bharati, organized an interactive seminar on the theme “Your GST Issue – Our Priority” at Chamber Bhavan, Gandhidham. The initiative aimed to enhance GST awareness, simplify compliance procedures, and support the growth and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Welcoming the participants, GCCI President Shri Teja Kangad emphasized the need for an industry-friendly ecosystem supported by simplified GST processes and effective facilitation services. He noted that empowering MSMEs would significantly contribute to the vision of Developed India @ 2047 while enabling entrepreneurs to fully benefit from various government initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, CGST Kutch Commissioner Shri Akhilesh Kumar reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to maintaining continuous engagement with trade and industry to ensure smooth GST implementation and enhanced taxpayer facilitation. Assistant Commissioner Shri Santosh Serdon delivered a comprehensive presentation covering GST compliance requirements, MSME-focused schemes, input tax credit provisions , refund mechanisms, grievance redressal systems, and other taxpayer-friendly measures.
GCCI Honorary Secretary Shri Mahesh Tirthani highlighted the transformative impact of ongoing policy reforms and taxpayer-centric initiatives on the MSME sector. He observed that with nearly 8 crore registered MSMEs, the sector has become the backbone of India’s economy, driving industrial growth, employment generation, innovation, and global competitiveness.
Senior officials present at the event included CGST Kutch Additional Commissioner Shri Dev Prakash Bamnavat, Joint Commissioner Shri Shiv Sagar, Deputy Commissioner Shri N. Mohan Krishna, Superintendent Shri N. S. Maheshwari, and other members of the CGST Kutch team.
A lively interactive session followed, during which entrepreneurs, chartered accountants, and tax consultants raised various GST-related concerns pertaining to compliance, taxation, and business operations. Senior CGST officials provided detailed clarifications and practical guidance to address the issues raised.
GCCI Vice President Shri Deepak Parekh remarked that such regular interactions between the CGST Department and the business community strengthen mutual understanding and promote smoother coordination between taxpayers and the administration. He also expressed appreciation to the CGST team and all participants for contributing to the success of the programme.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from industry representatives, tax professionals, business leaders, and other stakeholders from across the Gandhidham region , reaffirming the collective commitment towards a transparent, efficient, and business-friendly GST ecosystem.
