    On 11 October, 2023, Chennai Port Authority (ChPA) signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with seven companies, with an economic value of approx. Rs 9,000 crore.

    These seven firms involve Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), Gulf Oil Lubricants India (GOLI), POSCO India Chennai Steel, Elite  Shipping Agencies India, Coromandel International and Indian Port Rail Corporation (IPRCL).

    As a part of the third edition of Global Maritime India Summit 2023 (GMIS 2023) to be held in Mumbai from 17 to 19 October, the ChPA will ink MoUs with Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL), Hyundai Motors India, KTV Health Food, MSC Agencies India, Saint Gobain, and L&T. The total value of these six MoUs will be nearly Rs 65,000 crore.

    On 17 October, 2023, a special session in Tamil Nadu will be jointly organised by the state government and ChPA .
