CMA CGM has added a port call at Cork to its transatlantic PAD service, enhancing direct shipping connectivity between Ireland and the United States while expanding options for exporters and importers.

The revised rotation is expected to improve transit efficiency for cargo moving between southern Ireland and key North American markets, offering shippers more streamlined access to transatlantic supply chains.

The new Cork call strengthens Ireland’s role within regional container networks and supports growing demand for reliable ocean freight capacity across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food products, machinery, and consumer goods.

Industry participants say the service enhancement could help reduce reliance on feeder connections through larger European hubs, giving Irish businesses faster and more flexible trade routes to the US market.
