In a significant move to improve executive skills and operational performance, Coal India Limited (CIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai for the second edition of its specialized Executive Post Graduate Program (PGPEx) in “Logistics and Operations Excellence through Digitisation.”

The MoU was signed at IIM Mumbai by Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (HR) of Coal India, and Prof. Manoj K. Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai. The program is designed to train executives from Coal India and its subsidiaries. It will provide them with important skills in logistics, supply chain management, and digital transformation.

This year-long executive program supports the Government of India’s PM Gati Shakti initiative. This initiative focuses on improving infrastructure and logistics to increase economic productivity. Through this partnership, Coal India aims to develop future-ready leaders, improve operational efficiency, and drive the organization’s growth using data-driven and digitally empowered practices.

Speaking on the occasion, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening public sector capabilities through advanced education and industry-relevant training.
