Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has started the real-time movement of specialised tank containers for bulk cement transport, marking its entry into loose-form cement logistics. The first consignment has been successfully transported from My Home Cement Siding in Mellacheruvu, Andhra Pradesh, to CONCOR’s Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Whitefield, Bangalore.
The initiative introduces tank containers specifically designed to carry cement in bulk form via rail, reducing reliance on conventional bagged transport. According to CONCOR, the move supports the cement sector by offering efficient and secure transportation while contributing to environmentally responsible logistics practises.
CONCOR stated that its robust infrastructure and multimodal logistics capabilities will continue to support industry needs with cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions.
