Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) has announced the launch of a dedicated weekly container train service connecting Chennai and Hyderabad, starting from the first week of September 2025.

The service will operate every Tuesday, linking Chennai Ports — Harbour of Madras, Ennore, and Kattupalli via ICD Tondiarpet — to ICD Sanathnagar in Hyderabad.

Designed to provide businesses with a reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable logistics solution, the initiative underscores CONCOR’s commitment to strengthening multimodal connectivity across India.

“This service will empower trade through dependable rail logistics, enhance cost savings and efficiency for shippers, and support the nation’s green logistics vision,” a CONCOR statement said.

The launch of this rail service is expected to significantly boost the Chennai–Hyderabad logistics corridor, offering industries a greener, faster, and cheaper alternative for cargo movement while reducing carbon emissions.
