The six 60,000 dwt multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels will be constructed by CSSC Chengxi Shipbuilding for BOCOM Leasing.

The multi-purpose heavy-lift vessel is one of the core fleets of the company. This transaction will better meet the company’s demand for transporting special cargo such as wind power equipment, machinery, and engineering project goods,” said Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers.

The company said that the bareboat charter model can strengthen autonomous management of the leased vessels, effectively reduce the upfront financial pressure of newly built ships, provide liquidity support for stable operations, and further enhance the company’s sustainable development momentum.

Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers added 13 new vessels in the first quarter, including seven pulp carriers, three multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels and three car carriers.
