COSCO SHIPPING has announced that Chimbusco Jiangsu successfully provided 150 tonnes of methanol fuel to the first 16,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel containership built by COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry in Yangzhou.

To ensure the smooth execution of this refuelling operation, CHIMBUSCO Jiangsu and COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Yangzhou collaborated closely. They organised the preparation of the first “methanol refuelling design plan for terminal tank trucks” for large containerships in China and obtained the principle approval certificate issued by China Classification Society.

COSCO SHIPPING said in a statement: “The successful refuelling not only demonstrates the maturity of COSCO SHIPPING’s technology in the methanol fuel supply system but also provides strong support for the green transformation of China’s shipping industry.”

Earlier this week, COSCO SHIPPING announced the inauguration ceremony of the Northeast Regional Headquarters was held in Dalian, China.
