COSCO SHIPPING has announced the naming of the 62,000-DWT multi-purpose pulp carriers, “COSCO SHIPPING Ji Xiang” and “COSCO SHIPPING Ru Yi” at the Shandong Huanghai Shipyard.

The new vessels represent the 21st and 22nd in COSCO SHIPPING Specialised Carrier’s 62,000-DWT series of multi-purpose pulp carriers.

The ships measure 201.8 metres in length, 32.26 metres in width, and 19.3 metres in depth, with a range of 22,000 nautical miles. Their cargo holds have a capacity of approximately 72,000 cubic metres.

The decks of these two new vessels are equipped with two sets of 100-tonne single cranes and one set of 100-tonne x two combination cranes. They are capable of lifting a maximum weight of 195 tonnes, which enhances their loading and unloading capabilities and efficiency compared to the previous series of ships.

The main and auxiliary engines are equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to comply with NOx TIER III emission standards.

The ships have also received additional certifications for being smart and environmentally friendly vessels, demonstrating practicality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

Just recently, COSCO SHIPPING Lines obtained the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX) certification.
