In a significant stride towards sustainable cargo handling, DahNAY has launched South India’s first-ever Electric Vehicle (EV) Reach Stacker for Container Freight Station (CFS) operations. This milestone aligns with the company’s “For a Beautiful World” vision, underscoring its commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.

The groundbreaking equipment was unveiled yesterday at DahNAY’s CFS facility, marking a historic first for the region’s logistics sector. The EV Reach Stacker promises to drastically reduce carbon emissions, lower operating costs, and deliver quieter, more efficient container handling — a combination poised to transform how freight is moved within CFS environments.

“This is not just a milestone for DahNAY; it’s a leap forward for the entire industry,” said Mr. Murli Babu, CEO, DahNAY. “By adopting EV technology for heavy cargo handling, we’re proving that sustainable operations and high performance can go hand in hand.”

The newly deployed EV Reach Stacker is designed for zero tailpipe emissions and enhanced energy efficiency, helping cut down the logistics industry’s dependency on fossil fuels. With advanced battery technology, it can operate for extended hours on a single charge, ensuring uninterrupted operations without compromising throughput.

The move forms part of DahNAY’s broader decarbonisation roadmap, which includes introducing more electric and hybrid handling equipment, optimising energy usage across facilities, and promoting greener logistics solutions for customers.

Industry experts see this development as a signal of a larger shift in the Indian logistics sector. As global supply chains push towards net-zero targets, innovations like EV-powered heavy machinery will become increasingly crucial in meeting both operational and environmental goals.

“This is only the beginning,” added Mr. Murli Babu. “We have a clear plan to expand our EV fleet, enhance charging infrastructure, and integrate more renewable energy into our operations. Our aim is simple — make sustainable logistics the new normal.”

With this launch, DahNAY has not only set a benchmark for clean and efficient cargo movement in South India but has also reaffirmed its role as a pioneer in the green logistics transition.
