The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) has announced that Dammam port has been added to MSC’s India-East Med service.

The weekly rotation was launched on 27 September.

The service links Dammam to 13 Asian, African, and European hubs that include Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Hazira, Djibouti, Iskenderun, Mersin, Aliaga, Derince, Tekirdag, Gioia Tauro, Khalifa, Jebel Ali, and Sohar with a capacity of 13,000 TEU onboard a single vessel.

In August 2023, MAWANI and the Port of Rotterdam signed a partnership agreement aimed at enhancing joint cooperation in the field of developing smart ports.

More recently, MAWANI signed an agreement with the Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC) to boost collaboration across sustainability, marine safety, and oil spill control.
